Lacen Sunday was born in Cwero and still lives there today. She is the first born out of 7 children and lost her dad during the time of war. That left her mother alone to pay the bills. Sunday liked school but with it being during the war, the schooling was inconsistent, and fees were even harder to come up with. So, in Primary 6, at age 16, she stopped schooling to get married. She now has four children of her own and has been with Life Beads for 9 years. Sunday gives thanks to God for bringing her to Life Beads. The opportunity is so helpful to her because her children have a chance to go to school consistently. She is also thankful because when everyone suffers when they don’t have a good harvest and the crops are low, she still has a way to help her family because of her job. Sunday’s prayer is that God will continue to allow markets and buyers to want more jewelry so she and the other ladies can continue their craft. Her favorite part of the job is the worship time on Monday and the devotions the group has together and how it encourages them all. It has helped her grow in her faith and relationships over the last 9 years.
